A grand day out: IGersBirmingham head to IGersOxford instameet

On an overcast Saturday in February, thirteen members of the IGersBirmingham community headed south to IGersOxford’s second ever instameet. On the journey down we all kept our fingers crossed that the grey skies would clear and the weather would improve. The longed-for clear skies were not to be, but the warm welcome from the IGersOxford crew made up for it. It was great to chat with the three enthusiastic organisers: Ben (@benm.photo), Scott (@scottmwoolley) and Sophie (@wanderwithsophie).  We were also lucky to meet Jaroslaw (@jaroslaw_marciuk) who runs IGersPoland and IGersMiltonKeynes and share experiences of running an IGers community.

After an explanation that the theme for today’s instameet competition was bikes and the customary group photo, we headed out in to Oxford. As we walked through the beautiful city, it became apparent that there were plenty of opportunities for capturing both architecture and street photography. In addition to the fantastic surroundings, one of the best things about the day was spending time with like-minded people, from both the IGersOxford and IGersBirmingham communities.
