Birmingham Botanical Gardens Summer Instameet – Part 2

You’ve seen the behind the scenes images from the Birmingham Botanical Gardens instameet, now take a look at the beautiful and lush array of flora, fauna and landscaping  (not to mention that beautiful sunset) that caught everyone’s attention.

With 15 acres of landscaped lawns, mature beds, glasshouses, aviaries and a butterfly house it’s no suprise that nearly 500 photos were captured and posted, giving Birmingham Botanical Gardens an incredibly difficult task to pick just two favourite images. Congratulations Dan (@danmatthews_uk) and Christine (@soprano3) who will both receive Annual Memberships to the Gardens.

They certainly had a tough job to choose just two images – these are the rest that appeared on the shortlist:

Bandstand blues. . . Very pleased with this shot of the setting sun at @BhamBotanicalGardens last week. Our instameet was greeted with the arrival of rain and cloudy skies, which is not a promising start for a group of photographers, but luckily the sky cleared up just in time for this beautiful sunset to paint it orange and blue. The bandstand struck me particularly during my walk around the gardens, so it comes as no surprise that it features in what turned out to be my best photograph of the evening. Thanks to @TomMcNuttPhoto and @Alex.Leung.Photography for being good company during this outing. Thanks also to some of the other members that I got to speak to, as well as the entirety of the @igersBirmingham community for continually inspiring me with the brilliant work that they do. . . #Bandstand #igb_meet_BbgSummer #InstaMeet #BotanicalGardens #igersBirmingham #Birmingham #BirminghamUK #BirminghamLife #Brum #iLoveBrum #Bham #ThisIsBham #BhamGram #VisitBirmingham #igersUK #MoodyGrams #DuskPhotography #PhotographyAddict #Photography #PhotoSocUoB #Lightroom #SonyAlpha #SonyA7SII #FullFrame #SamyangLens #CaughtOnSamyang
